Feb. 19 (Thurs):

Rabun TU regular monthly meeting at the TU/Scout Hut. Fly tying starts at 5 pm. Social starts at 6:30 and meeting at 7 pm. Our guest speaker is Jenny Sanders. Jenny is a watershed management professional and an outdoor enthusiast. Jenny is affiliated with the Little Tennessee Watershed Association and the Chattooga Conservancy. She just recently got back from out west rafting and fishing the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. She will have lots of great info to share with our group!!

Feb 7: Annual Planning Meeting at the Dillard House

Feb. 7 (Sat): Annual Planning Meeting at the Dillard House. Everyone welcome. We will be planning out our activities over the next year after feasting on a delicious breakfast!! Great time to fellowship and work together and Breakfast is on US! Starts at 8 AM.

WHEN: Saturday, January 24, 2015
WHEN: The “New” Dillard House Conference Center, located behind the Dillard House in Dillard, GA
WHO: The more, the better! Everyone interested in protecting our cold-water resources, including their families, friends, and all who love clean, cold streams, trout, and trout fishing
SOCIAL: About 5 pm folks will start gathering to “pick the pig” and enjoy the rocking chairs on the porch of the Conference Center. There will be snack trays of cheeses, crackers, veggies with dips, and fruits. Soft drinks and ice will be available. If you want something stronger, better bring it yourself (BYOB). There will also be a fire inside to warm your buns. The Foxfire Bosy with their famous bluegrass music will begin at 5 pm.
DINNER: Fish, chicken, and pork with all the side dishes and desserts that have made the Dillard House so famous will be served about 6:30. It’s a buffet, so you will not leave hungry!
COST: $32 for adults. Cash, personal checks, VISA, or MasterCard accepted. We don’t do advanced tickets or reservations; just pay at the door.

Kelly is the Deputy Hatchery Manager with the Chattahoochee Forest NFH. His program is titled: “Chattahoochee Forest National Hatchery- Working for You!” Should be a very informative meeting.

Smithgall Woods Regional Education Center offers programs for students of all ages in cooperation with the Georgia DNR& Wildlife Resources Division, State Parks and Historic Sites Division, and Pioneer RESA. Teacher workshops are held to help teachers learn more about North Georgia’s ecosystems and the unique opportunities available at Smithgall Woods. Casting for Recovery (CfR) provides healing outdoor retreats for women with breast cancer, at no cost to the participants. CfR’s retreats offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life, and experience healing connections with other women and nature.
