The Rabun Rendezvous

Online auction completed. See you at the Rendezvous next year!

Are you ready for “RENDEZVOUS-LITE”?  The online auction site is up and running.  Preview of the auction items will run from May 27th, through the end of the day on May 30th, Memorial Day.

Beginning May 31st, the auction will be live and accepting bids from the 31st of May through the end of the day on June 7th.

The online event is not designed to replace our traditional “Rabun Rendezvous” held each year in January at the Dillard House.  This event is designed to provide some funding to allow our Rabun TU chapter to continue our efforts in supporting Trout Unlimited and its mission.

Please help by visiting the site and actively participating in the online event.  The members and friends of Rabun TU thank you for your participation and continued support.

“The Rendezvous was unlike anything before or since, a gathering of uninhibited men down from the mountains. The event attracted perhaps a hundred mountain men, their Indian wives, and assorted visiting tribesmen. Amusements included gambling, drinking, storytelling – continuing day and night.”

The Mountain Men by George Laycock

The Rabun Rendezvous is the annual event of the year for the trout enthusiast in Georgia! It is typically held the Saturday following Martin Luther King Day, at our usual location at the Dillard House in Dillard, GA. Social time starts at 5 o’clock PM. Folks will gather to “pick the pig” and enjoy the rocking chairs on the porch of the Conference Center. There will be snack trays of cheeses, crackers, veggies with dips and fruits. Soft drinks and ice will be available. If you want something stronger, better bring it yourself. (BYOB) There will also be a fire inside to warm your buns. You can expect lots of great items for silent auction and raffle prizes. The Foxfire Boys, with their famous blue grass music, will be there. Then about 6:30 we will dine on fish, chicken and pork with all the side dishes and desserts that have made the Dillard House so famous. It is a serve yourself buffet, so you will not leave hungry. The cost is always reasonable, with a reduced rate for those under the age of 15.

Watch our Facebook page or Tightlines, our monthly newsletter, for more information on the upcoming Rabun Rendezvous.  Waa hoo!
