Free TU Membership for Women Now Available

March 8, 2014

The Rabun Chapter has begun a new and exciting outreach to women anglers and conservationists. There is a growing community of women who enjoy angling and want to keep America’s rivers cold, clean and fishable. This year we will place a special emphasis on connecting with those women and including them in our Chapter. The Chapter contact for this program is Michele Crawford. To help initiate this outreach, Trout Unlimited is offering a free introductory membership to TU for female anglers. All current female members may renew at the discounted amount of $17.50.

The Rabun chapter also has a women’s only Fly Fishing clinic coming up in October. Like Trout Unlimited National, the Rabun Chapter welcomes you! We look forward to more ladies joining us in our mission to conserve, protect, and restore coldwater and their watersheds in our area. Plus, we do a lot of fishing.

Contact Michele Crawford for more info at crawfordart@windstream.net.

Prez Tammy Wins Mack Martin Rod Sweepstakes

Chapter Prez Tammy Hopton held the winning ticket at the Chapter’s annual July 11 family picnic that she won the raffle for Mack Martin’s custom-built Winston 3-weight fly rod! The rod raffle brought in more than $1,800 to support our programs. That’s a new record. We can’t thank Mack enough for his generosity in crafting and donating such a beautiful trout tickler to our Chapter.
