Congrats to Monte Seehorn

February 4, 2019

Congratulations, Monte!

Rabunite Monte Seehorn, retired USFS fisheries biologist, was recently inducted into Southern Trout’s “Legends of the Fly” Hall of Fame! The ceremony was held Friday, Feb 1 at 4:30 pm at the Atlanta Fly Fishing Show.

Pretty impressive for a crusty Old Fart!

Mar 19: Chapter Meeting

February 4, 2019

Mar 19 (Tues) Rabun Chapter Monthly Meeting. Fellowship begins at 6:30 pm, meeting begins at 7:00 pm. Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church, Dillard, GA. Contact Kent Wilson.

Meet the Warden!

Our guest speaker will be Chad Chambers, the local GA DNR Wildlife Resources Law Enforcement Officer.

Following the speaker, Ray King will lead a discussion on what went right, and what can be improved upon, for the 2019 Rabun Rendezvous. If you prefer to provide written comments on the Rendezvous, email Ray King.

Also, due to National TU changing the fiscal year of the organization to begin March 1, we will have an election of Chapter officers. The Board nominates the current, existing Officers for the one year period beginning

March, 2019 to March, 2020. The Board will entertain other nominations for Officers, and then a vote will be held.

All Chapter members and guests are invited to attend the monthly Chapter meeting!

Prez Tammy Wins Mack Martin Rod Sweepstakes

Chapter Prez Tammy Hopton held the winning ticket at the Chapter’s annual July 11 family picnic that she won the raffle for Mack Martin’s custom-built Winston 3-weight fly rod! The rod raffle brought in more than $1,800 to support our programs. That’s a new record. We can’t thank Mack enough for his generosity in crafting and donating such a beautiful trout tickler to our Chapter.
