Local Boy Scout and TU Teen Trey McFalls wins Young of the Year Award!!

Each year Georgia State TU Council takes nominations from individuals and state chapters for The Young Of The Year Award. The award goes to a young person of high school or college age, male or female who deserves to be recognized for exceptional leadership and dedicated work in pursuit of the mission of Trout Unlimited in Georgia. Trey has taken on Trout in the Classroom for Rabun TU. He has raised money for another tank, supplies, eggs etc and works in each classroom to pass on the passion of water conservation to other youth. Trey says:

“I have had a lot of fun working with Trout in the Classroom this school year at Rabun County Middle School. The students in the Science classes have benefited greatly from this hands-on program. This also happened to be my Eagle Scout Project, which may have the opportunity to be considered for the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award for the NEGA District due to its conservation theme. I am happy to report that after successfully implementing Trout in the Classroom and successfully completing the Eagle Board of Review, I am now officially an Eagle Scout with Troop 6 of Clayton. It would not have been possible without the support of the Rabunites, the Georgia Council of TU, and generous local donors. This project has been a true testament to the mission of Trout Unlimited to conserve, protect and restore.” Rabun TU is proud to have this young man on our team… the Rabunite Team!!!

Congratulations Trey! You make us all proud!!
